Catch a ferry from town after work on Friday and enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants perched alongside the marina, before heading back into town. On the first *Saturday of the month, you can find yourself wandering around the French Boutique gourmet market that is modelled on the French village green market or ‘marche-local’. Fresh organic produce, meats, artisan bread & pastries, olives, oils and handmade pasta, fresh flowers and much more. Fill your basket or sit Parisian style and enjoy the European ambience over an espresso a croissant.
If you have the energy to burn why not hit the Beachlands-Maraetai walkway which runs 5km from Second View Ave, Beachlands past sites of historical significance, coastal flora and fauna through Te Pene and Omana Esplanade Reserve. The walkway will take 95 minutes to complete one-way with a moderate fitness level. To reward your efforts there is a safe swimming beach at both Omana and Maraetai along with large grassed areas for picnicking and a large children’s playground.
Back at Pine Harbour you could spend time at one of the café’s, buy an ice-cream, take a stroll around the marina, swim at the sheltered beach, swing a club at the driving range or play a round of golf at the PGA world-class Formosa Golf Resort next door.
