Gold AT HOP cards fare information

You can travel for free on SeaLink's scheduled services Monday-Friday from 9.00am weekdays until the last sailing of the day. For travel commencing before 9.00am the full adult fare applies.  You will need to 'tag on and tag off' with your AT HOP card.  AT 'tag on, tag off'  machines are located at the top of the ferry ramp at Pine Harbour and at Pier 1C.

Purchase an AT HOP card from one of the following locations:

  • Botany customer service centre
  • Pakuranga Lotto
  • Paper Plus Highland Park
  • Paper Plus Howick
  • Four Square Beachlands
  • Pier 1 ticket office at the Downtown Ferry Terminal
  • Britomart Transport Centre

Baggage other than “Cabin Baggage” may be charged for.

Terms of use and registered prospectus for the AT HOP cards are available on AT.govt.nz/athop or at the Transport Information Centre, Britomart. 
The obligations of Auckland Transport under the AT HOP cards are unsecured.

Bookings

Currently there are no online bookings for individual travel. AT HOP cards can be purchased as above or alternatively you can pay a crew member prior to boarding the ferry.

For large group bookings we ask that you call our Customer Service Team on (09) 300 5900 or 0800 SEALINK (0800 732 546) to let us know of your intended travel times, this helps us arrange the correct size ferry.  All passengers must have a ticket to be able to board the ferry.

Travelling on the Pine Harbour services

If you are travelling to or from Pine Harbour and the City you will need to head down to the wharf 10-15 minutes prior to the scheduled sailing time to get in the queue. Tickets can be purchased onboard and payment can be via cash, EFTPOS and credit card. All passengers must have a ticket to be able to board the ferry.

If you have a group wanting to travel we recommend you call our Customer Service Team on (09) 300 5900 or 0800 SEALINK (0800 732 546) ahead of the day so we can ensure we have scheduled a ferry of the correct size to carry all passengers.

Face coverings must be worn from Monday 31st August

From Monday 31st August, all travellers must wear a face covering while at SeaLink terminals and onboard all SeaLink vessels. The Ministry of Health has mandated the use of face coverings while on all public transport for Alert Levels 2, 3 and 4. 

Accepted face coverings can include medical or non-medical-grade face masks, a bandana, handkerchief, or scarf. Face coverings should not be worn by children under 12 or people who could not remove them without assistance or people who have trouble breathing (medical certificate may be requested). We will have disposable facemasks available to purchase for $3 at the Hamer Street, Half Moon Bay and Kennedy Point terminals if you find yourself without one on arrival at the terminal. 100% of the purchase price of each facemask sold will be donated to St John.

COVID-19 Health & Safety Update

For the health and safety of our other passengers and crew, you will be expected to remain in your vehicle for the duration of your time at our terminals and on our vessels.

If you need to use our facilities, e.g. bathrooms or cafe, remember you must wear your face covering and return straight to your vehicle to maintain social distancing.

Changes to Great Barrier Island pricing

Our passenger and vehicle (up to 5.5m) fares for Great Barrier Island sailings now vary partly with demand. 

$10 change fee will now apply when changing your standard passenger fare. A change fee of $50.00 will apply to all vehicle booking changes. Where a booking increases in value, the change fee will apply plus any fare difference must be paid. Where a change fee has been charged for a vehicle the passenger (adult, student, child, senior) change fee will not apply to those passengers travelling with the vehicle. Visit Sealink.co.nz/terms for further details.

Change fees are only applicable for bookings made from 8th of July onwards. New fares and change fees do not apply to Great Barrier Residents’ Deals, account customer rates, concessions and multi-passes.
