Due to internal movements, we are searching for practical and motivated people to join our close-knit team at SeaLink’s Half Moon Bay terminal in East Auckland.

The position is full time based on a “3 days on 3 days off” roster including public holidays. Shifts can vary between 11.25 - 13.25 hours in duration depending on the day of the week and peak holiday times.

Key duties include:

  • Providing a welcoming and efficient check-in service

  • Marshalling our customers and their valuables on and off the ferries. 

  • Effective communication with land and water-based team members

  • Being a key role model in demonstrating of Health & Safety practices

  • Any other duties as required by management

SeaLink Travel Group is dedicated to the operation of a top-quality service through our fleet of vessels on the Hauraki Gulf, transporting passengers, cars and freight to Waiheke and Great Barrier Islands, as well as a commuter service from Pine Harbour.

We are seeking a practical and motivated person to join our close-knit team at SeaLink’s Kennedy Point terminal on Waiheke Island. You will be the smiling face behind the counter greeting customers and responsible for ensuring all passengers and vehicles are ticketed and boarded safely onto our vessels.

The position is based on a 20-hour minimum weekly roster and can include weekends and public holidays. Shifts can be up to 15 hours depending on the day of the week and peak holiday times.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Responsibility for ensuring the safety of all passengers and vehicles on and off the vessels
  • Providing a welcoming and efficient service to all customers
  • Checking in and ticketing all vehicles in time for boarding
  • Having a strong presence and being able to control the traffic
  • Administration including daily banking and cash reconciliation
  • Effective communication with land and water based team members
  • Being a key role model in demonstrating excellent Health & Safety practices

Class 2 Truck Driver - Waiheke Island

Based in East Tamaki, SeaLink Logistics is part of the SeaLink Travel Group transporting goods to Waiheke Island eight times per day, seven days a week.  SeaLink Logistics has been operating for over 25 years and is the largest freight provider to the island performing multiple services.  

In preparation for the peak season SeaLink Logistics is seeking a Class 2 Driver, who is based on Waiheke Island.

Based at Tahi Road on Waiheke Island, this role is not made up of mundane transport runs.

The routes that SeaLink Logistics has are exclusively based on the island, delivering and collecting freight of all kinds. 

Key accountabilities include:

  • Waiheke pickups and deliveries
  • Reversing onto vessels
  • Performing pre-start checks on the vehicle
  • A small amount of general vehicle maintenance (oil checks and the like)
  • Navigating narrow roads and confined areas
  • Vehicle loading and unloading

Necessary licences, endorsements, skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years Class 2 driving experience
  • Dangerous Goods and forklift endorsement
  • Good knowledge of Waiheke Island
  • Physically fit
  • Sound understanding of log book regulations and requirements
  • Clean record, good communication skills, presentable and a team player

Hours of work and other conditions:

There is a minimum number of 40 hours per week however there is a requirement to work additional hours during peak times, including summer.

Hours of work are generally from 6am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

What does this work involve?

Our peak season is over the summer months and we have several fixed-term opportunities for engaged, customer-focussed people to work in our Customer Centre, which overlooks the sparkling Hauraki Gulf.

Utilising your natural people skills and friendly customer service skills, these roles will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your ability to resolve customer queries and process their bookings over the phone, via email and face-to-face.

Key duties include:

  • Responding to queries and processing bookings in a professional, accurate and timely manner

There are several fixed-term vacancies at our Hamer Street site, based in Auckland’s CBD.

The positions are based on a 7-day flexible roster including public holidays.  Shifts vary in duration, start and finish time depending on the day of the week and peak holidays. 

For example, office hours range from: Monday to Friday 5.45am – 4.15pm or 7.30am – 6.00pm (8.00pm in peak periods). Weekends and Public Holidays run from 6.30am – 5.00pm.

The routes we have will see you head over to the popular holiday spot of Waiheke Island on a regular basis.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Driving a range of units from Class 2 to 5
  • Auckland metro pickups and Waiheke deliveries
  • Reversing onto vessels
  • Coupling and uncoupling trailers
  • Navigating narrow roads and confined areas
  • Vehicle loading and unloading

To be successful in the role you will need to have the following skills, qualifications, and experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years Class 4 / 5 driving experience
  • Good knowledge of Auckland Metro
  • Dangerous Goods and forklift endorsement
  • Physically fit
  • Clean record, good communication skills, presentable and a team player

Forklift Operators

Based in East Tamaki, SeaLink Logistics is part of the SeaLink Travel Group transporting goods to Waiheke Island seven days a week.  FreightLink has been operating for over 25 years and is the largest freight provider to the island performing multiple services.  

Due to an increase in workload we are seeking two experienced, well presented Forklift Operators to join our friendly team. 

The role involves:

  • Vehicle loading and unloading as per the loading code
  • Locating and moving products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
  • Identifying damages and reporting shortages or quality deficiencies
  • Completing pre-start checks for forklift equipment and identify the need for repairs
  • Ensuring safety by completing regular maintenance checks
  • Helping to maintain a safe and organised workplace
  • Complying with company policies and legal guidelines
  • Being a reliable team player and available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week

To be successful in the role you will need to have the following skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Proven experience as a forklift operator
  • Warehousing experience
  • A current forklift license with an ‘F’ endorsement and a full drivers’ licence
  • Be physically fit with excellent coordination
  • Attention to detail and confident with industrial equipment
  • Strong communication skills
