SeaLink Travel Group is dedicated to the operation of a top-quality service through our fleet of vessels on the Hauraki Gulf, transporting passengers, cars and freight to Waiheke and Great Barrier Islands, as well as a commuter service from Pine Harbour.

Reporting to the Maritime Operations Manager this unique position is responsible for ensuring SeaLink’s vessels, employees and stakeholders meet the legal and compliance requirements associated with all applicable Maritime New Zealand and Health & Safety regulations.  This key role is also accountable for ensuring the MTOP is current and compliant and that SeaLink’s standard operating procedures align with industry best practice.

The Health, Safety & Compliance Manager is a key part of the Maritime team, deputising for the Maritime Operations Manager in their absence. SeaLink operates a 7 day / 365 week per year operation so this role will be required to be part of an “On Call” roster.

To be successful in the role you must have the following qualifications, experience and abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of Maritime Law and the requirements of Maritime New Zealand
  • Demonstrated knowledge and effective implementation of Health & Safety best practice
  • Experience with actively developing and implementing quality management systems (ISO) and advising on quality management systems in an operational environment
  • Policy and procedure development and documentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Proven experience with engaging cross functional teams
  • Strong software and systems knowledge
  • High levels of initiative and energy with a solution driven approach

A strong degree of self-awareness – understanding your own strengths and weaknesses and perceptive to those of others.

Account Manager

(30 hours per week)

We have an exciting opportunity for a driven Account Manager to join our team to accelerate growth. This position reports into the Group Sales & Marketing Manager and will be dealing with a diverse customer base - so the ability to deal with individuals at all levels of business is essential.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Negotiating pricing, rates, terms and contracts to ensure all accounts are on the correct pricing and rates structure
  • Working closely with the existing customer base to ensure that the top tier customers are delivering growth
  • Identifying and developing customers with high growth potential
  • Analysing and reporting sales results
  • Gathering market & industry intelligence and monitoring competitor activity.

Skills and experience

  • Solid client facing sales experience, in either a Business Development Manager or Account Manager position
  • Freight, transport industry experience preferred
  • Must be results oriented, exceptional inter-personal and relationship building skills, self-starter, assertive and confident
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail essential.

Customer Service/Billings Administrator

Based in East Tamaki, SeaLink Logistics is part of the SeaLink Travel Group transporting goods to Waiheke Island 8 times per day, 7 days a week as well as regularly transporting goods to Great Barrier Island.  SeaLink Logistics has been operating for over 25 years and is the largest freight provider to the islands performing multiple services.

An opportunity has arisen for a Customer Service/Billings administrator to join our close-knit team at East Tamaki. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, being the first point of contact in providing freight services to both Waiheke and Great Barrier Islands. The Customer Service Administrator will also be responsible for the invoicing process and ensuring accurate entry and manifesting of all outbound freight, while providing general office support.  

Key accountabilities include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure bookings are scheduled and communicated efficiently
  • Accurate and efficient entering of inwards goods to produce consignments notes
  • Maintaining and distributing accurate manifests
  • Entering of pickups and expecting freight into the depots booked through the system and passing on to required personnel
  • Processing regular invoicing runs, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of invoices
  • Processing BCTI invoices to customers
  • Processing cash sales and storage invoices
  • Assisting with general office administration

To be successful in the role you will need to have the following skills, knowledge and qualities:

  • Transport/Logistics industry experience desirable
  • Minimum of 3 years in a customer services role
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and clear verbal communication skills

Logistics Coordinator

Based in East Tamaki, SeaLink Logistics is part of the SeaLink Travel Group transporting goods to Waiheke Island 8 times per day, 7 days a week as well as regularly transporting goods to Great Barrier Island.  SeaLink Logistics has been operating for over 25 years and is the largest freight provider to the islands performing multiple services.  

An opportunity has arisen for a Logistics Coordinator to join our close knit team based at East Tamaki.  This role is responsible for verifying and keeping records of inwards stock movement whilst maintaining accuracy of the inventory and developing and maintaining a professional relationship with third party carriers, courier companies, and freight forwarders.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Responds to customer queries
  • Receive customer orders and arrange collections and deliveries
  • Check all inwards goods to ensure they are the correct weight and dimensions and the paperwork is correct with the full sender and delivery details and clearly labelled
  • Collate outward paperwork for manifesting and pass on to the administration team in a timely manner
  • Coordinate transport and communicate deliveries and manifests with Waiheke and other relevant staff
  • Arrange truck/trailer loading
  • Coordinate the furniture collection/delivery and house moves
  • Manage fleet compliance i.e. licenses, RUCs

To be successful in the role you will need to have the following skills, qualifications and experience:

  • At least 2 years inwards goods experience
  • Logistics and/or warehousing experience
  • Drivers and forklift license
  • A good working knowledge of greater Auckland and Waiheke Island
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Effective written and clear verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

CLASS 4 and 5 Drivers 

Based in East Tamaki SeaLink Logistics is part of the SeaLink Travel Group transporting goods to Waiheke Island 8 times per day, 7 days a week. FreightLink has been operating for over 25 years and is the largest freight provider to the island performing multiple services. These aren’t your mundane transport runs. The routes we have will see you head over to the popular holiday spot of Waiheke Island on a regular basis.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Driving a range of units from Class 2 to 5
  • Auckland metro pickups and Waiheke deliveries
  • Reversing onto vessels
  • Coupling and uncoupling trailers
  • Navigating narrow roads and confined areas
  • Vehicle loading and unloading

To be successful in the role you will need to have the following skills, qualifications, and experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years Class 4 / 5 driving experience
  • Good knowledge of Auckland Metro
  • Dangerous Goods and forklift endorsement
  • Physically fit
  • Clean record, good communication skills, presentable and a team player

Hours of work are based on a minimum of 40 hours per week, there is a requirement to work additional hours during peak times, including summer. Start times can vary from 1am to 6am, Monday to Friday, with finish times varying from 1pm to 6pm dependent on the freight run.

Forklift Operators x 2

Based in East Tamaki, SeaLink Logistics is part of the SeaLink Travel Group transporting goods to Waiheke Island seven days a week.  FreightLink has been operating for over 25 years and is the largest freight provider to the island performing multiple services.  

Due to an increase in workload we are seeking two experienced, well presented Forklift Operators to join our friendly team. 

The role involves:

  • Vehicle loading and unloading as per the loading code
  • Locating and moving products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
  • Identifying damages and reporting shortages or quality deficiencies
  • Completing pre-start checks for forklift equipment and identify the need for repairs
  • Ensuring safety by completing regular maintenance checks
  • Helping to maintain a safe and organised workplace
  • Complying with company policies and legal guidelines
  • Being a reliable team player and available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week

To be successful in the role you will need to have the following skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Proven experience as a forklift operator
  • Warehousing experience
  • A current forklift license with an ‘F’ endorsement and a full drivers’ licence
  • Be physically fit with excellent coordination
  • Attention to detail and confident with industrial equipment
  • Strong communication skills 

What we can offer:

We offer a minimum of 40 hours per week however there is a requirement to work additional hours during peak times.  Hours of work are typically between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.
