SeaLink is searching for practical and motivated people to join our close-knit teams at Half Moon Bay (East Auckland) and on Waiheke Island. These roles are responsible for providing phone based and face to face customer service, as well as ensuring all passengers and vehicles are ticketed and boarded safely onto our vessels.

The positions are based on a flexible roster including weekends and public holidays.  Shifts vary in duration depending on the day of the week and peak holiday times.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Providing solutions-focused inbound and outbound customer service via face to face, email, telephone and website
  • Responding to queries and processing bookings in a professional, accurate and timely manner
  • Providing a welcoming and efficient check-in service
  • Administration including daily banking and cash reconciliation
  • Marshalling our customers and their valuables on and off the ferries
  • Ensuring the safety of all passengers on and off the ferries
  • Effective communication with land and water based team members
  • Being a key role model in demonstrating of Health & Safety practices

To be successful in the role you will need to have the following skills, knowledge and qualities:

  • Proven sales and customer focused delivery

Logistics Coordinator

SeaLink Logistics is part of the SeaLink Travel Group transporting goods to the islands of Waiheke and Great Barrier. SeaLink Logistics has been operating for over 25 years and is the largest freight provider to the islands performing multiple services.

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Logistics Coordinator to join our SeaLink team, based on Great Barrier Island. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for the Great Barrier wharf site, where they will verify and maintain records of inwards goods and inventory levels, while also developing and maintaining professional relationships with third party carriers. The Logistics Coordinator will also be responsible for traffic control, ensuring the safety of vehicles and people during sailing times and will also support the on-board crew during arrivals and departures.

This is a sole-charge role, so the successful candidate will be a motivated individual, confident in working autonomously. This role is part time, working a minimum of 12 hours per week. Some moderate lifting may be required.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Maintain the Great Barrier Wharf site, preparing it for the loading and unloading of vehicles and passengers
  • Verify and maintain records of inwards stock movement and inventories
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Support the on-board crew during arrivals and departures to ensure adherence to schedules
  • Deliver professional customer service by meeting and greeting customers on arrival and departure and responding to customer queries
  • Proactively educate customers in dangerous goods and pest control
  • Receive customer orders and arrange collections and deliveries
  • Collate outward paperwork for manifesting and pass on to the administration team in a timely manner
  • Coordinate transport and communicate deliveries and manifests with Waiheke and other relevant staff

To be successful in the role you will need to have the following skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Inwards goods experience

Traffic Marshalls (Half Moon Bay)

Permanent position (min 37.5 hours per week)

Due to an internal movement we are searching for a practical and motivated person to join our close-knit team at SeaLink’s Half Moon Bay terminal in East Auckland. This role is responsible for ensuring all passengers and vehicles are ticketed and boarded safely onto our vessels.

The position is based on a 3 days on 3 days off roster including public holidays. Shifts can vary between 10.5 - 12.5 hours in duration depending on the day of the week and peak holiday times.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Responsibility for ensuring the safety of all passengers and vehicles on and off the vessels
  • Checking in and ticketing all vehicles in time for boarding
  • Providing a welcoming and efficient service to all customers
  • Having a strong presence and being able to control the traffic
  • Effective communication with land and water based team members
  • Being a key role model in demonstrating of Health & Safety practices
  • Any other duties as required by management

Fixed Term opportunity based at Half Moon Bay until May 2020.

A fixed term opportunity has become available until the end of May 2020 for a Team Leader to ensure that the operation of the Half Moon Bay terminal upholds the highest standards of Customer Service and efficiency. Providing 2IC support to the Terminal Operations Manager, the Team Leader will mainly be responsible for using leadership best practices to coach, support and encourage the team at Half Moon Bay, as well as effectively helping resolve any team or operational issues that arise.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Actively leading the team at Half Moon Bay, ensuring they are well supported at all times
  • Providing training on current processes, system changes and updates
  • Liaising with vessel crew and offices to assist in the smooth operation of the business
  • Liaising with the Terminal Operations Manager to coordinate activities, confirm rosters and effectively resolve any team or operational issues

To be successful in the role you will need to have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

Fixed Term opportunity based in Auckland CBD until Feb 2020

A fixed term opportunity has become available until the end of February 2020 for a Sales Centre Supervisor to ensure that the operation of the Sales Centre upholds the highest standards of Customer Service and efficiency. Providing 2IC support to the Terminal Operations Manager, the Sales Centre Supervisor will mainly be responsible for using leadership best practices to coach, support and encourage sales centre staff.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Actively leading the team and ensuring they are well supported at all times
  • Ensuring the team is trained on current processes, system changes and updates
  • Monitoring customer call volumes, staff levels, rostering and workload
  • Ensuring all technical systems are working correctly and reporting malfunctions to the relevant staff
  • Proactively monitoring bookings to ensure accurate booking capacity
  • Assisting in the implementation of new products and providing updated information to achieve accurate bookings
  • Providing reports and feedback to management when required

Reporting to the Maritime Operations Manager this unique position is responsible for ensuring SeaLink’s vessels, employees and stakeholders meet the legal and compliance requirements associated with all applicable Maritime New Zealand and Health & Safety regulations.  This key role is also accountable for ensuring the MTOP is current and compliant and that SeaLink’s standard operating procedures align with industry best practice.

The Health, Safety & Compliance Manager is a key part of the Maritime team, deputising for the Maritime Operations Manager in their absence. SeaLink operates a 7 day / 365 week per year operation so this role will be required to be part of an “On Call” roster.

To be successful in the role you must have the following qualifications, experience and abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of Maritime Law and the requirements of Maritime New Zealand
  • Demonstrated knowledge and effective implementation of Health & Safety best practice
  • Experience with actively developing and implementing quality management systems (ISO) and advising on quality management systems in an operational environment

Based in East Tamaki SeaLink Logistics is part of the SeaLink Travel Group transporting goods to Waiheke Island 8 times per day, 7 days a week. FreightLink has been operating for over 25 years and is the largest freight provider to the island performing multiple services. These aren’t your mundane transport runs. The routes we have will see you head over to the popular holiday spot of Waiheke Island on a regular basis.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Driving a range of units from Class 2 to 5
  • Auckland metro pickups and Waiheke deliveries
  • Reversing onto vessels
  • Coupling and uncoupling trailers
  • Navigating narrow roads and confined areas
  • Vehicle loading and unloading

To be successful in the role you will need to have the following skills, qualifications, and experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years Class 4 / 5 driving experience
  • Good knowledge of Auckland Metro
  • Dangerous Goods and forklift endorsement

Based in East Tamaki, SeaLink Logistics is part of the SeaLink Travel Group transporting goods to Waiheke Island seven days a week.  FreightLink has been operating for over 25 years and is the largest freight provider to the island performing multiple services.  

Due to an increase in workload we are seeking two experienced, well presented Forklift Operators to join our friendly team. 

The role involves:

  • Vehicle loading and unloading as per the loading code
  • Locating and moving products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
  • Identifying damages and reporting shortages or quality deficiencies
  • Completing pre-start checks for forklift equipment and identify the need for repairs
  • Ensuring safety by completing regular maintenance checks
  • Helping to maintain a safe and organised workplace
  • Complying with company policies and legal guidelines
  • Being a reliable team player and available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week

To be successful in the role you will need to have the following skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Proven experience as a forklift operator
  • Warehousing experience
  • A current forklift license with an ‘F’ endorsement and a full drivers’ licence
  • Be physically fit with excellent coordination
  • Attention to detail and confident with industrial equipment
  • Strong communication skills
