Getting to Pier 3, Ferry Terminal, Downtown Auckland

Address: Pier 3, Downtown Ferry Terminal, 188 Quay Street, Auckland 1010

Pier 3 is situated in the Downtown Ferry Terminal in the heart of Auckland City.  It's just a 30-minute drive from Auckland Airport. Public transport information can be found on the Auckland Transport's online journey planner.

Parking

Parking can be expensive in the city depending on how long you need to park for. We recommend you use public transport as all routes will come into Britomart Transport Centre, which is just a short walk from the wharf. If you do need to bring your car, then the Downtown Carpark is located just across the road. If you want to cycle to the ferry there are bike racks located nearby.

Terminal facilities

There's no ticketing office or undercover waiting area so if the weather is bad we recommend you bring an umbrella or wear a rain jacket. Coffee shops are located across the road and nearby if you arrive early or need to grab a drink or snack before boarding.

Our ferries do not have a café/bar onboard, so on this route no food or drinks can be purchased.

Ferry tickets can be purchased directly from our crew members onboard the ferry, or, alternatively if you have an AT HOP card you'll need to ‘tag on, tag off’ using the AT HOP machine on the wharf.

Travelling with my bike

Yes, you can travel with your bike to Pine Harbour. They will be parked on the back deck for the duration of the sailing.

Checking in

The crew will handle check-in and all passengers travelling to/from Pine Harbour should check-in 10 minutes prior to departure. To get everyone loaded and ensure the ferry departs on time, we can’t guarantee passage if you’re running late.

Unaccompanied children

Travel for unaccompanied children under the age of 14 years must be arranged with the Skipper prior to departure.
