Booking information, changes and checking in

We recommend you book in advance on our website as we offer discounted fares online.  Vehicle bookings are essential. A standard size vehicles (car/ute/4WD) under 5.5 metres in length. Foot passenger bookings are not essential but recommended as some sailings have restricted passenger numbers. We recommend group, charters and peak period bookings: December, January and all holiday weekends are booked well in advance. Travel alerts will be displayed on the website if conditions change and require last-minute schedule or ferry changes. Sign up for our free text alert service. Check in times vary so please check your confirmation .

Timetables, fares and paying for tickets 

Check out our latest timetables and fares, including our Waiheke hot deals. There are multi trip passes for frequent travellers, senior, student and child fares, supergold car holders and Island residents fares when travelling with appropriate ID. We accept Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Diners, Flexipay and EFTPOS. We do not accept cheques. All fares are in $NZD and include GST. All tickets are valid for one calendar year from the date of issue. Expired tickets are not valid for travel

Travel insurance, unaccompanied, dangerous goods 

We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances when travelling. SeaLink reserves the right, in the event of a confirmed/paid booking being cancelled by a passenger, to charge a cancellation fee. Please see our terms and conditions for more details.
Passengers under 14 years old or those regarded as too young (or not fit to travel alone) must be accompanied by a responsible person at least 14 years or older. We may require the parent/guardian to complete an 'Unaccompanied Minor Application for Travel' form before travel will be allowed. On certain sailings we will accept unaccompanied vehicles if you are dropping off at one terminal and you have someone picking up on the other side.  There is an additional cost to do this.
